Consultancy and Design

AES provide full technical department design and layout in accordance with Building Bulletin 81.

By combining our design expertise with our experience in technical consultancy, we can assist Principal Teachers, Construction Companies and Local Authorities in planning the layout and equipment content of their Craft, Design and Technology Departments.

We offer advice on matters such as equipment selection, health and safety, dust and fume extraction, electrical services (including lighting, machine power points and emergency stop systems) and working layout (including safe working distances around machinery and furniture).

Our aim is to provide a department which fulfills the requirements of BS 4163:2007, Building Bulletin 81 Guidelines and all other relevant Health and Safety Legislation. We believe that by consulting with all relevant parties from initial project concept through to completion, we can help ensure a final department layout that meets all current legislative requirements and will also satisfy the demands of school curriculum.
