Flagship Stone Mason Training Centre chooses AES for Design and Installation

When Historic Scotland were planning the design of their new training centre for Stone Masons at Forth Valley College in Stirling, they wanted to ensure that the dust extraction was effective from the start.  Stone Masonry and related industries can create high levels of dust containing respirable crystalline silica which can cause silicosis – an irreversible lung disease.  Historic Scotland spoke to a number of LEV installation companies before commissioning AES to design and install the system as they “offered a practical solution for the removal of dust at source and were the only company to consider and provide advice on the risks of dry brushing of stone dust”.  AES worked with Historic Scotland through all the design considerations and provided a solution comprising of two separate systems – a Nederman Filtermax unit with extraction arms for the removal of fine dust at source and a C-VAC vacuum system for the cleaning of benches and floors.
